A new breakfast restaurant is coming to Schnitzelburg, according to Louisville Business First.
Angelica Pizzonia, co-owner of Breakfast AF, said she and her partners hope to open the new breakfast spot at 1008 Goss Ave. on July 26, but they still have some details to work out.
Pizzonia said Breakfast AF was a way for Hauck’s owners to open a new restaurant in the same neighborhood without duplicating themselves.
She said the concept for Breakfast AF was inspired by Pizza AF, a food truck the restaurant owners back that is operated by Allan Rosenberg, former owner of Papalino’s and Butchertown Pizza Hall, which closed in 2019.
Breakfast AF will be open seven days a week with both morning and late night hours for people who want a breakfast after a night out.
Pizzonia said the concept for Breakfast AF was inspired by Pizza AF, a food truck the restaurant owners back that is operated by Allan Rosenberg, former owner of Papalino’s and Butchertown Pizza Hall, which closed in 2019.
“Pizza is a very specialized [offering], and so is breakfast,” Pizzonia said. “It turns out they use the same type of equipment, so we had started to open the food truck earlier to serve breakfast. The idea for Breakfast AF evolved from there.”
Rosenberg will be in charge of the culinary program at Breakfast AF, which will be located in a 3,600 square foot property owned by FAP Properties LLC, according to Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator records.
Pizzonia estimated that it will cost more than $100,000 to open the new restaurant, which will have seven employees.
“We’re really excited about bringing a new concept to this neighborhood,” Pizzonia added. “The neighborhood is growing so fast. People are rehabbing house and building here. I think Breakfast AF will fit in with all the restaurants in the area.”
